The Seat Belt - Attention: Random Post!

The seat belt is a little tight on me right now (driving through Bryce canyon), it used to be that when the seat belt got stuck you would push it back in a little bit and then back down and it would release and you would be fine, but for some reason the more i push it back in the more i get stuck! I think i can live with it though, so no worries.

In The Middle of The Desert

Ok, i'm in the middle of the nevada desert surrounded by Joshua trees! They can take the heat, them cute trees. Actually it's not all that hot... it's kind of funny there aren't that many trees all togther, they're all scattered but that's all you see when you look out the window, and they're short and funny looking... they look tough and stand 'tall'! Like when hollywood tells us that the shortest of them all is the toughest... same analogy deal metaphor kind of stuff. That might not have made much sense, you know i write as i think, or rather think as i write and things come off weirdly sometimes!

Anywho i can spend a lot of time trying to explain how i don't make much sense and still not make any sense, so lets move on...

My destination you might ask? Well Vegas baby!!! Casinos, slot machines, bright lights, parties, moneeey here i come! Wooo-hooo! (One tends to be a little delusional sometimes)

It's so easy to get distracted... Dian Thomas, Shahar, and i are going to see Tom Antion speak tomorrow. I'm very excited. Tom talks about high end internet marketing (among other things) and i'm just so super happy we get to learn with him, i'm sure you'll see the effects of what we learn with him reflected on here... anything to make this a more useful and better place for you and me.

I think i have a dysfunctional armpit, i only sweat on one side. Sorry that was probably too much information, way more than you would like to know, but it's so hot in here and sweating on one side and not the other is so weird! It's like having a colored printer with no color ink in it just the black ink... it's not quite despairing but all in all a little disturbing.

I'm starting to yawn, that's not a good sign you know?! I mean if i'm yawning while i type i wouldn't dare think of what you're going through! You poor soul, so persistent, thank you for making it this far down the page, you rock! I'll have some pictures on here for you in a little while so come back ok? Take care.

Self Marketing Tip- Positioning

When we think how to position ourselves to the market we need to consider a few things:
We live in an overly communicated society.
Usually, the mind accepts only which matches to prior knowledge or experience.
We need to learn to look for the solution for our services or products inside the prospect’s mind.
Concentrate on the perceptions of your prospects and not on the product. This way you simplify the selection process.
To start the process on how to position yourself ask:
1. What makes you unique ?
2. Is this considered a benefit by your target market ?

Self-marketing tip

There are more ways to promote yourself than you can dream of.
Did you know that there are more people online now watching videos than watching tv and movies in the whole world?
Got the idea?
What if you had a bioclip- a 5 minutes video where you could talk about you, what you do, your services or products? And have it distributed over the internet? And for very, very little money?
Can you see the possibilities for your business?
With just one clip you can reach hundreds of thousands of people.
Some gurus call this " The five minute revolution", because the internet allows small businesses to promote themselves without spending a fortune and reach much more people than with other medias. You don't even need a website, because people will be able to find your video in different places.
If you want to see some examples go to http://www.buzzbooster.com/videos.htm
and to know more about this revolution: http://www.buzzbooster.com/vid_selfmarketing.htm
It may take a minute or two to start, but it is really worth checking it out.

Self Marketing Tip

We all know we need to send the same message several times so our prospects and clients will remember us when he needs a service or product like the one we provide.
But using the same channel of communication every time decreases our chances to succeed.
For example: using a newsletter to do that everytime.
You need to find 5 channels of communication to reach your prospects.

For Example:

Your Business Card
An e-mail newsletter
Podcasts
Networking Groups
A blog

There are many more. The key is to find different channels to comunicate what you want people to know.
Their brain will register your message and they'll remember you as the expert next time they need a service or product like yours.

What are the channels of communication you use? Are they working?
We'll talk about how to make them work in another tip.

Buzz and Biz: The World is Flat, The Sky is Blue...

Yesterday we got to the office so excited with what we had taped during the First Friday's meeting. Got ready to edit the show and everything when... problems with the software. Just a little while ago we were able to fix it.

Which doesn't matter because the show is really great. 4 experts talk about how businesses can export and what a great possibility that really is. There is so much good information that we had to leave some for our Tuesday show.

Here is Pat Vaughn who organizes First Fridays with the article we had at the Salt Lake Tribune and me. I could really loose a few pounds!

Here are the panelists who did a great job telling everyone about how to export.
