The 1st Annual Millcreek Township Venture Outdoors Festival, held June 17, was a huge success. The event was held in Canyon Rim Park, located at 2900 East 3100 South. Businesses, vendors, local authorities, politicians, and residents from the Millcreek Township were invited to set up booths to inform the community of services and happenings located in their own backyards.

Close up and personal! Disabled birds of prey were exhibited, much to the delight of onlookers. Handlers instructed onlookers about the efforts being made to rehabilitate the birds.

The surrounding mountains created an amazing backdrop for a rock wall and a giant slide which were available for hours of family fun.

Mike Ziemba and Dave Hunter of A Gift of Touch Massage offered table and chair massage throughout the event.

The Women's Business Center helps women succeed in business by offering free counseling, a variety of trainings, a monthly networking group, mentoring, procurement, and a couple of major events to build awareness for women's accomplishments in business. While the Utah Bloggers Conference is still a hot topic, let me say a few things...

I was reading on their blog www.utahbloggers.com that some people complained about not having name tags, the food, too much business talk and not other sessions...

Well, do people really expect a first time event to be perfect?!
As most of you know we are major networkers, we attend easily more than 30 events a month. Let me tell you, it is not easy to do a first time event and bring more than 130 people to attend. Even with it being free.

This just shows me one thing: Blogging is something that interests a lot of people around here and they did it. Good work! Bravo! (Plus, i loved my new t-shirt!)

Talking about blogging and business is very important. It cannot be the only topic, but blogs and smart businesses go hand in hand and it is important to educate people on that. My suggestion is that in the next one we have the breakout sessions, and sessions for begginers because I did notice a large number of people really interested in blogging but with no clue on how to start one.

First, last week we had the opportunity to speak about new media possibilities at the U of U. We had a great time!

Yep, I'm in a self-advertising mood today.
I had a great time last week speaking at the U of U about internet strategies to use
to attract young people.
It was really a great opportunity to tell people about what we do best.
If you were not there, let me tell you:
We build online strategies for businesses. This means, we set a plan for a business to create a strong online presence and to grow in an organized way online.
We also do alternative media like Podcasts and Online videos to help spread the word for businesses.
The fact is, many people spend a lot of money on a website and never see a penny coming from it. Funny thing, depending on what you do, a website may not even be the best option to start.
Today, there are many options online to grow a business other than websites. It all depends on what you want. You can create something just to spread the word and get results fast, or do it slowly setting yourself as an expert in your field.

The approach will be different in each case.
We've been working with the internet since 1998 and we work hard to keep updated on new trends and ways to get better results.
