TGI Friday and Crocs

When a Friday comes, my first thought is: No business clothes, comfort, no social shoes. At least most Fridays. It is just so great to think I'll have 3 days ahead of me where I can just wear comfortable shoes.

Funny, just this morning I was reading an article on Entrepreneur magazine about Crocs. Those rubber shoes with bright colors that are just hideous?! What a phenomenon are they becoming and the fact that there are so many blogs on Crocs.

These blogs help spread the fever, which is good for the company, but why are they so hot? According to the article, it is not because Mario Battalli wears orange ones on tv but because they are extremely comfortable. But they are so ugly! My inner self told me: If they are so comfortable, buy one and never leave the house with it! I could do it. But they are sooo ugly! But if they are comfy.... What will people think if they see this shorth, chubby lady wearing those? Will I simply sucumb to a fashion trend?

The article said people wear them to make a point: If one is successful, one doesn't need to worry about thess things. It is a way of saying "I dont care!" That is a good excuse! I could use that.

Wonder what my friends at Elite Business Communications would have to say about this. So many questions, so many worries. Not to mention that my Friday started when my bed broke. Not too good for my self- esteem!

To Croc or not to Croc! I guess I'll think about this matter while I munch on an egg, bacon, and cheese biscuit at Mc Donald's. Gotta go!

Life is Good! Storytelling, Networking, Elton John, Affiliate Marketing

Well well well a few exciting things have happened this week! Let me tell you all about them... Nothing but good things have happened (knock on wood)! We've had some exciting things going on, I'll mention a few, and I'll add some pictures how about that?

- We went to the 'Get Motivated' all day seminar at the Delta Center. We listened to some awesome speakers, Zig Ziglar, Giuliani, John Stockton, Steve Forbes, to name a few. And I had a fantastic time, listened to some things I had to listen to and learned a lot. I also find value in going to these events because they get you back into a stage where you believe you can everything and anything and you start brainstorming and seeing the different possibilities without the barriers of self-criticism.

- We also went to the Storytelling festival in Timpanogos. This was quite a treat! I had a blast, the weather was good and the stories were great. Storyteller Bill Lepp I believe was the highlight of the festival. I also enjoyed listening to Kala Jojo, and Willy Claflin.

- The other day I was watching ksl news in the morning and they had a contest where they asked in what year was Elton John's first album released, I quickly sent them an email and guess what?! You guessed it, they gave me two tickets to the Elton John concert later this month! Is that cool or is that cool?!!

- This weekend Shahar and I had the opportunity to be certified as Affiliate Managers. Affiliate managers manage affiliate programs, and assist their affiliates in generating more sales. I have to say that this wasn't the best explanation on the subject you'll ever read! Basically having an affiliate program is like having a strong sales force working for you all over the web, and the affiliate manager 'trains' and guides that sales force.

We met with some very, very powerful people. The program was put together by Russell Brunson and Stu McLaren. Russell is a very successful online marketer, he has over 30.000 affiliates and generates revenue of over six figures each month. He started on his own from scratch and started in less than 18 months ago. Oh, and he's from Idaho.

Stu manages the top top top internet marketers in the world! No kidding, he's the affiliate manager for Alex Mandossian, Armand Morin, Mark Victor Hansen, Dan Kennedy, and more... these are very powerful guys.

We interviewed them, so look forward to listening to them on upcoming podcasts! These guys were on the 'limelight', but some of my 'classmates' were Frank Sousa, James Scott, Rhea Perry, to name a few.

These are all known as super affiliates, which means they also really know what they're doing and they have tremendous success. - I had a fantastic time, learned a lot and made some very good contacts. Frank Sousa convinced us of going to the JV seminar next month, and I believe that's just what we're going to do! :)

The Power of a Customized Stamp

Did you ever stop to think that a stamp can be really powerful? Let’s first talk about how it can improve relationships.

Just picture this:

You are interested in a certain someone. You go out on a date, have fun, and a friend takes some pictures of you two together. Some days later, you send a romantic card. That is nice in itself but imagine that before opening the envelope, the person sees that on the regular stamp there is a photo of you two and a message saying “ I love You”

Now, that is a romantic surprise!
Since this is a great idea, some months later you can use the photo stamp on your wedding invitation. Some people use personalized stamps to send mail and show others the new puppy they got, new baby, graduation announcements. Really, there are a lot of reasons to send photo stamps.

I like to use them for my business and I can tell you right of the bat that this simple inexpensive tool has helped me increase my clientele a lot. The first time I used this tool was to promote my website. It was new and I wanted to attract more visitors. My website is on the top 100’s on Alexa.

Later I started using them to announce special events, seasonal promotions and some ad messages. Now I also use them as a branding tool (very efficient by the way), when we launch new products, etc.

I especially like to send cards with custom stamps to clients and special prospects. I at least get a nice smile from them. The fact is, even if you have a stamp just with your logo, this will help you create brand awareness and make you get noticed.

You know how cluttered the market is today and the simple, eye catching things can make a big difference. The whole process is so simple. You just need a picture or your logo. You go to the website http://www.SpecialPostage.com and order. That’s all!

Follow up with my clients and prospects is something I take very seriously. It is a key point in my business and in the whole process what I’m really trying to do is create a relationship that will last for years. I find that the stamps are an easy way to get my foot on the door and put a smile and a curiosity grain in their faces. Several times I had people calling me to talk about the stamps and how funny they were or just asking me where to get them. Instead of me calling them for an appointment, they called me first.

Now, tell me if this is not powerful and creative?
I use them everyday. Could I ask for something better?! These customized stamps are creative, easy to get, inexpensive and very powerful. I don’t wait to try new things, especially because I don’t want to do things when everybody else is doing them. It decreases a lot the response.

I’m sure there are many places where you can get thess customized stamps. I buy mine from the postal service. They are real stamps. If you’d like to get more information go to: http://www.SpecialPostage.com

Still Telling Stories

What a great weekend!
The story telling festival was awesome.
The last night at the park, there was just no room. People everywhere.
Bill Epp was my favorite. Really funny guy.
Have you realized how important it is to know how to tell a story in your business?
Let me tell you: It is key. That is how you get people interested in what you are doing and get them to pay attention.
In our podcast with Patricia Fripp from last week, she talks more about this subject. If you didn't listen yet, don't wait another minute. It is free and fabulous.
By the way, since we were having fun during the holiday we didn't have time to take the promotion out for the marketing seminar, so you still have time. Go to http://www.buzzclinic.com
