Networking That Works

It is important to know how to enter a room.  Arrive on time and walk into the room as if you belong there and know several people, even if you don’t. 

Get an overview of the room and greet the hosts.  Look for someone that you know will be easy to approach.

If you don’t know anyone, look for someone standing alone, walk up and begin a conversation. Generally, a person standing alone will be happy to be approached. 

There is much more to networking than just “working a room” or “doing lunch.”

Networking is about forming sincere, honest relationships and connecting with people in all areas of your life – not just business.
