Heart to Heart CANcer HOPE BOUTIQUE

We met a wonderful woman called Patti Hagler. Patti is definately a woman you should know. This mother of five children found out in 2001 that she had type III breast cancer, but despite the bad news, she soon realized that life does go on after a diagnosis of breast cancer. She fought and survived, but had to go through a mastectomy.

It was not easy, of course, and in her words: "It was a traumatic experience to be confronted with a life threatening disease and new body image". But she faced the changes and decided that from her experience, she could now help other women. She became a Reach To Recovery Volunteer with the American Cancer Society.

She soon also realized the need for an upscale boutique for breast cancer survivors that would take care of special needs in a caring and calm environment. - In 2004, Heart to Heart Cancer Hope Boutique was born.

Patti's motivation for starting Heart To Heart, was to help other women through the process of cancer, that she experienced.

This little cozy cottage, in Midvale, is a reflection of the tenderness and will that Patti carries in her being. Facing the consequences of this disease and its treatment is not easy. This cottage is a place where she can help other women go through this difficult period in their lives.

At Heart to Heart women also find fashionable swimsuits, camisoles, sports wear, pajamas and night gowns!  They all have pockets to keep the breast form in place. Patti Hagler is a caring fitter. She listens to her clients needs and explains the options available.

The place offers comfort and privacy and is also a gift shop with inspirational books & thoughtful gifts. - The exclusive comfort bears are one of the highlights of this place.

Today Heart To Heart has a Relay for Life team, which is a wonderful community fundraising event with the American Cancer Society.

Being such a young store, the place still has some ups and downs so Patti continues to work at RC Willey as a Sales Associate, to help keep Heart To Heart going. But she knows that as sure as she always has a beautiful smile on her face, her business will grow and survive, just like she did.
